Implementation of Second Phase of EOF and Academic Union Salary Increases

Dear Deans, Directors, and Department Heads,

We are pleased to announce the implementation schedule for the second phase of salary increases and payments for the recently ratified EOF and Academic unions agreements as detailed below.

Employee Group or Semester Eligibility Criteria and Payment Description Payment Date
TA/GAs - Academic Year 7/1/2023 Effective Date: $1,500 lump-sum (prorated for appointment periods of less than a full academic year) 7/7/2023
TA/GAs - Calendar Year 7/1/2023 Effective Date: $1,500 lump-sum (prorated for appointment periods of less than a full calendar year) 7/7/2023
Winter/Summer Instructors
(Winter 2023 Session)
(Summer 2023 May to June)
(Summer 2023 July to August)
For Lecturers (PTLs) that previously taught the same course: Retroactive pay equal to the greater of a 3.75% A-T-B or the new minimum for the applicable Lecturer level
For AY faculty: 3.0% of their AY salary or the new $2,510 minimum if the 3% is below the minimum
All other unit members: Increase to the new $2,510 minimum

CIR (Housestaff) - Terminating on 6/30/23 7/1/22 Effective Date: Lump sum equal to the retroactive payment applicable to unit members separating on 6/30/2023 based on the newly negotiated 7/1/22 salary scale 7/7/2023
EOF 7/1/23 Effective Date: 3.5% A-T-B 7/21/2023
AAUP-AFT Faculty 7/1/23 Effective Date: 3.5% A-T-B 7/21/2023
AAUP-BHSNJ 7/1/23 Effective Date: 3.5% A-T-B 7/21/2023
Lecturers (PTLs) who only taught in the Fall 2022 semester (i.e., did not teach in the Spring 2023 semester) Retroactive Pay for Fall '22 Appointment: The greater of a 3.75% A-T-B or increase to new minimum for the appropriate Lecturer level 7/21/2023
RBHS Post Docs - New to Unit on 7/1/23 7/1/22 Effective Date: 5% A-T-B, increase to new minimum, OR increase from funding source (i.e., $52,500 CY) 8/4/2023
Post Docs 7/1/23 Effective Date: The greater of: 8.5% ATB, increase to new minimum, OR increase from funding source (i.e., $56,963 CY) 8/4/2023
CIR (Housestaff) - current active 7/1/22 Effective Date: Increase to FY'23 Step 8/4/2023
CIR (Housestaff) - current active 7/1/23 Effective Date: Increase to FY'24 Step 8/18/2023
