Dear Rutgers Colleagues,
The New Jersey Division of Pensions and Benefits (NJDPB) has designated October 1, 2020 – October 31, 2020 as Open Enrollment. Open Enrollment is your yearly opportunity to review benefits and make changes for the next calendar year. While more information regarding Open Enrollment will be available later this month, we wanted to provide an important update regarding a change to the Open Enrollment process.
This year, Open Enrollment for medical, prescription, and dental insurance coverage through the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP) will be completed online through an outside vendor. The NJDPB has selected Businessolver to administer these upcoming Open Enrollment online benefit elections. Enrollment or changes to retirement plans (i.e. 401(a), 403(b), and/or 457, and all other voluntary plans), Flexible Spending Accounts, and Voluntary Retirement Savings Plans will continue to be handled through University Human Resources (UHR).
Benefitsolver for Medical, Prescription, and Dental Insurance Elections
In the coming days, employees currently enrolled in the New Jersey State Health Benefits Program (SHBP) will be receiving a letter from the New Jersey Division of Pensions and Benefits (NJDPB) announcing a new partnership with Businessolver and the launch of a new website called Benefitsolver. Please know this is a legitimate communication and you should review the materials thoroughly.
Beginning October 1, 2020, employees will be able to log into the Benefitsolver website by accessing a link on the MyNewJersey portal (my.state.nj.us). If you have trouble creating an account and/or accessing the portal, please contact NJOIT support at https://www.nj.gov/mynj/myNJRestrHelp.html. Please note that this link does not support the Benefitsolver website. More information regarding Benefitsolver will be made available shortly by the vendor.
401(a), 403(b), and/or 457, Flexible Spending Accounts, and Voluntary Retirement Savings Plans
Retirement plans (i.e. 401(a), 403(b), and/or 457, and all other voluntary plans), Flexible Spending Accounts, and Voluntary Retirement Savings Plans will continue to be handled through University Human Resources (UHR). Flexible Spending Accounts will still need to be renewed for the new calendar year. Information regarding this and other important Open Enrollment information will be sent in late September or early October once we have all necessary information from the NJDPB.
We understand that you may have benefits-related questions. Please contact OneSource Rutgers Faculty and Staff Service Center at 732-745-SERV (7378) or OneSource@rutgers.edu for assistance.
Sincerely,
Vivian Fernández
Senior Vice President for Human Resources
