It is time for our first non-aligned employee End of Year Review process under our new online process. The End of Year Review is an opportunity to celebrate accomplishments and discuss goals for the coming year. It is also an opportunity for employees and manager to discuss strengths and identify areas of further development in relation to position-specific responsibilities, overall performance, and career aspirations. The End of Year Review process will run from May 5, 2020 through June 30, 2020.
Impact of COVID-19
We have received several inquiries related to the impact of the change in operations as a result of COVID-19, and how those changes have impacted performance goals and priorities. COVID-19 has changed our ways of communicating, interacting with colleagues, and performing work. Many have had to pivot their job functions and roles in support of the university’s COVID-19 efforts, with no opportunity to adjust performance goals accordingly. To ensure year-end performance reviews reflect the impact of COVID-19, we have amended the process:
- New COVID-19 Goal: To recognize employees that have led or directly supported COVID-19 efforts, managers will have the option to add a COVID-19 goal to an employee’s goal plan.
- Goals Impacted by COVID-19: For goals that were unable to be completed due to COVID-19, we are empowering managers to use discretion to evaluate work performance completed prior to March 2020.
